Advocacy

 The Center’s Actions

Central Utah Center for Independent Living serves as a strong advocacy voice to eliminate barriers and promote community integration public awareness; outreach and partnerships.

CUCIL provides two types of advocacy to individuals with disabilities:

Self-Advocacy assists the individual in learning the necessary skills to access goods or services from local, state or federal agencies.

System Change Advocacy teaches the individual how to initiate change in the system on the local and state level to enhance independent living in their community.

Sunny McCoard is the 2007FY chairperson for the Center's Legislative Advocacy Committee
